Amrita RAO (born in 1988) is an Indian actor, who mostly appears in Hindi films. She was born on June 7, 1988 in a Konkani-speaking family to Deepak Rao & Kanchan Rao in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Preetika has a sister with Amrita. Amrita did her schooling at Canossa Convent Girls' School, Mumbai. Following that, she was granted admission in mumbai's Sophia College for Women but she dropped out to pursue a profession in modeling. Deepak Rao is the owner of an Advertising Agency in Mumbai. Guru Dutt was a second cousin of her grandfather. The actress was in a music video in 2001 to promote Alisha Chinoy's Woh Pyar Mera. She was cast opposite Aarya in Raj Kanwar's Ab Ke Baras, (2002). In the 2006 movie Vivah, she had a lead role. M.F. Husain has declared Amrita Rao to be his second muse after 11 years after he had created Madhuri Dixit.
