Richard B. Cheney, prominent businessman and public servant is vice president. Cheney, a well-known face on the scene of Washington politics, worked with four presidents from the United States. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush has nominated Cheney as his vice-presidential running mate in July 2001. Bush cited Cheney's wisdom, judgment, and experience. Dick Cheney was a chief of staff for presidents. He was a member of the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense, and served the country in a variety of roles. Both Republicans as well as Democrats appreciate his honesty and integrity. Cheney declared that his position within the Bush administration will be that of a transparent but disinterested advisor. Cheney stated that, when he accepted the Republican nomination as vice president He was excited about being a part of a president who would work with all parties to achieve goals and will collaborate with opponents with confidence. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941, the son of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. After 13 years of age, old, he moved along with his parents from Nebraska to Casper located in western region of Wyoming, where his father ran the district for soil conservation in Casper for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
